JOHN J. MAKOWSKI
LEAD LITIGATION AND TRIAL ATTORNEY John grew up in Sandy Springs, Georgia, spent his college years in Athens, and has called Macon home for almost 30 years. He earned his B.B.A. in 1990 from the University of Georgia and his J.D. in 1997 from Mercer Law.
John's law practice began in 1997. For 17 years, he was with a highly regarded litigation firm in Macon, where he acted as lead trial counsel and advocate for individuals, local governments, first responders and law enforcement, small businesses, and a number of insurance companies and carriers. In 2015, John founded Makowski Law Firm and focused on helping the seriously injured. John's experience derives from close to 30 years as a litigator and trial attorney in the areas of motor vehicle/trucking collisions, premises liability, bodily injury, federal civil rights practice, and general business litigation. His Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent is the highest mark of professional excellence. John is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and Macon Bar Association. His practice includes advocacy in Georgia's state and federal trial courts, Georgia's appellate courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, where John has successfully argued Fourth and Eighth Amendment civil rights cases. |
